For instance, if you’re using an air – cooled industrial machine in a factory located in a tropical region, the high ambient temperature can significantly reduce the cooling capacity of the system. The machine might not be able to operate at its full potential, and it could also experience more frequent breakdowns due to overheating.

Cost is another aspect. While air cooling systems are generally cheaper upfront compared to some other cooling methods, the long – term costs can add up. Fans have a limited lifespan, and they need to be replaced periodically. Also, if you’re using air – conditioned rooms to supplement the air cooling, the energy costs can be quite high.

Let’s say you have a server room that’s air – cooled. To maintain the right temperature, you might need to run air conditioners 24/7. The electricity bills for this can be a significant expense over time.

Now, even though air cooling has these limitations, it still has its place. It’s simple, easy to install, and in many cases, sufficient for low – to – medium – heat – generating applications. But for high – performance and high – demand scenarios, it’s important to be aware of these drawbacks.
